TerraGo StreetlightOps Awarded Sustainability Product of the Year

STERLING, Va. —  The Business Intelligence Group named TerraGo StreetlightOps as Product of the Year in the 2022 Sustainability Awards program.  TerraGo’s StreetlightOps software is being used to deploy and manage smart LED streetlight networks, replacing inefficient legacy lighting on some of the largest smart city and utility projects around the world.

The conversion to smart street lighting allows cities and utilities to reduce their energy consumption by 50 – 80%, which translates directly into massive carbon savings. TerraGo StreetlightOps not only accelerates conversion projects, but also dramatically improves maintenance operations, by improving efficiency and reducing truck rolls.  In this way, the TerraGo software delivers not only a monetary ROI, but clear, verifiable and measurable carbon savings above and beyond the smart lighting infrastructure. With over 5 million streetlights under management today, TerraGo’s software will reduce total carbon footprint by over 1 million tons of CO2 over the next five years.

“TerraGo is proud to work with our partners, cities and utilities to deliver tremendous economic and environmental benefits to communities around the world,” said Dave Basil, CEO & President of TerraGo Technologies. “With the commercially-proven, combined benefits of smart lighting and our streetlight operations software, we are in a position today to help accelerate and scale the rollout of intelligent lighting to reduce global carbon emissions in ways never before possible.”

“We are proud to reward and recognize TerraGo Technologies for their sustainability efforts,” said Maria Jimenez, Chief Nominations Officer, Business Intelligence Group. “It was clear to our judges that their vision and strategy will continue to deliver results toward a cleaner, more sustainable world. Congratulations!”
